Client: Royal Mayan Shrimp Farms Ltd.
Description: Corporate shrimp farm producing L. vannamei in semi to high density rearing environments.
Service provided: Technical advisor on all aspects of production. Worked with client to evaluate farming strategies and to focus on tools to improve production. Multiple analytical technical audits on all facets of production including evaluation of existing protocols and problem areas potentially affecting production. Worked with staff and management to implement strategically relevant changes and to better organize collection and management of data for future analysis. Implemented the use of PRO4000X with a significant benefit.
Client: Nova Toledo Shrimp Farms
Description: A medium sized largely semi-intensive corporate shrimp farm with some sectors operation at low high densities.
Service Provided: Complete technical audit on all facets of production with evaluation of existing protocols and problem areas potentially affecting production. Worked with staff and management to implement strategically relevant changes. Prepared a report for bank detailing issues with operation.
Client: Nova Ladyville Shrimp Farms
Description: A very large semi-intensive farm operating outside of Belize City. The farm has four separate farms that were operated together. The group has a large hatchery operating on Ambergris Caye that supplied all of their own seed.
Service Provided: Complete technical audit on all facets of production with evaluation of existing protocols and problem areas potentially affecting production. Worked with staff and management to implement strategically relevant changes. Farm failed due to poor management and commodization of shrimp prices.
Client: Belize Shrimp Growers Association
Description: An association formed by the shrimp growers of Belize to maintain communication among its various members.
Service Provided: Visited all of the farms in Belize and sampled farms for the presence of the virus responsible for Taura Syndrome before the disease became widespread. Worked with the Belizean Agricultural Health Authority to determine extent of the disease. Discussed biosecurity and related issues with staff on the farms.
